PS-MUN Message

Message from the Organising Team

"What began as a modest dream has grown into a powerful tradition."

PS-MUN began on February 11th, 2011, with our first -ever conference - a Special Conference on the Family. It was no coincidence that this was our chosen theme. From the very beginning, it reflected not only the content of our debate but also the spirit of our school. Platon is, at its heart, a family school, a close-knit community where students, teachers, and parents grow together with shared values, mutual respect, and a strong sense of belonging.

That first conference was brought to life by two dedicated teachers and a small group of bright, determined, and passionate students. What began as a modest dream has since grown into a powerful tradition, a welcoming space where voices matter, ideas thrive, and young people are empowered to lead beyond borders and make a real difference in the world.

For the past 15 years, Model United Nations at Platon School has been a deeply transformative journey for both students and educators alike. Through PS-MUN, students enthusiastically embrace the roles of delegates, ambassadors, and organisers, immersing themselves fully in the art of diplomacy, negotiation, and global leadership. This simulation experience goes far beyond conventional learning, it ignites a genuine passion for understanding the complex workings of our interconnected world and inspires young people to become thoughtful, active citizens determined to shape a better and more just future for all.

Platon School has proudly connected with schools across Greece and around the world, building a vibrant, truly global Model UN community. In today’s rapidly changing and interconnected world, the ability to grasp global issues and collaborate effectively across cultures is more vital than ever before. No matter what paths our students take, they will engage meaningfully with diverse perspectives and face challenges that demand empathy, innovation, and courage

For nearly two decades, I have walked alongside students as they found their voices, embraced global challenges, and grew into thoughtful, compassionate leaders. Each year, their unwavering commitment reminds me of the deeper purpose behind it all. Watching them come together - debating, problem -solving, and leading with compassion and integrity—fills me with deep pride.

It is truly a privilege to guide such motivated, articulate, and compassionate young people - students who wholeheartedly believe in the power of their voices and the promise of a better tomorrow.

We look forward to welcoming you into our PS-MUN family this March for an exceptional Model UN experience one that inspires meaningful dialogue and empowers delegates to lead with purpose.
