Esteemed Delegates & MUN Advisors,

It is with great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th session of Platon School Model United Nations Conference (PS-MUN) which will take place from March 1st to March 3rd 2019 in Athens, Greece.

Every year since its inception, PS-MUN has been highly committed to offering both a unique and innovative MUN experience to students not only from Greece, but from all corners of the world.

As each year passes, we are more confident in providing a three-day experience of enriching debate with a most inspiring agenda, making MUN the best learning experience possible, as we believe it should be.

Our goal is to integrate and engage delegates to be exposed to debate from a global perspective and recognize international issues of paramount importance to the world as a whole.

By participating in PS-MUN, delegates will participate in thought-provoking, innovative debates with our 4 General Assembly Committees (Disarmament & International Security, Social Humanitarian & Cultural, Special Political & Decolonisation and Legal) and 6 Specialised Agencies (ECOSOC, Environmental Commission, ICJ, Security Council, the G20 and the Special Conference).

We believe that each of our committees will allow both novice and experienced debaters to put their skills to great use in an accurate simulation of the 21st century international politics.

The concept of a democratic society, such as the one our country enjoys today, began in our Greek capital some 8,000 years ago, a city that has been referred to as the cradle of Western civilisation.

As such, we have decided to focus upon the topic of Democracy this year, to honour the historic city of Athens and to celebrate the forthcoming 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Platon IB World School.

Therefore, our Special Conference topic will focus on: “Democracy and the Sustainable Development Goals”.

The registration process will begin as of Monday September 3rd, 2018 with deadline on Friday December 14th 2018.

For any further queries and pertinent information related to our conference, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@ps-mun.gr

We sincerely thank you in advance for your kind consideration as we look forward to welcoming you to our conference in March 2019.

Sincerely yours,

Lilly Nikolopoulou
